Simone Nintendo has announced Metroid Ravenous, a new 2D side-scrolling action-adventure title scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2027.
The game follows bounty hunter Samus Aran after she is ambushed by unknown assailants and stranded on an unfamiliar moon. Trapped within labyrinthine ruins, Samus must utilize beams, missiles, and newly awakened Metroid instincts to aggressively attack and devour hostile creatures to survive.
Alongside the standalone release, Nintendo announced a Metroid Ravenous amiibo line featuring standalone Samus and Chozo Statue figures, as well as a Special Edition bundle that includes the game, a steelbook case, and an exclusive Samus (Metroid Suit) amiibo.
Metroid Ravenous releases January 28, 2027, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
