Fans looking forward to Mariachi Legends will have to wait a little longer, as the pixel-art Metroidvania has been delayed from its planned 2026 window to April 27, 2027. However, the delay comes with a silver lining: a brand-new release date trailer showcased during Gamescom, offering a fresh look at what’s to come.

While the extended wait may be disappointing, the new gameplay footage softens the blow by highlighting the title’s fluid combat system. The trailer shows off precise parrying, brutal execution mechanics, and a versatile arsenal ranging from swords, whips, and firearms to powerful occult magic abilities.
The footage also dives deeper into the vibrant yet dangerous town of Santa Mascota. As Detective Pablo Cruz – empowered by Death itself to become the masked warrior La Sombra – players will navigate a world shaped by a dynamic Day, Night, and Full Moon system. Beyond fighting off nocturnal beasts, the trailer highlights detective investigations, Tarot card customization, and cooking traditional Mexican dishes for combat buffs.
When Mariachi Legends arrives on April 27, 2027, it will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, alongside a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass.
