Developer Mojang Studios has announced that Minecraft will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, bringing enhanced visual upgrades and expanded content features to the hybrid console platform.

The native Nintendo Switch 2 release introduces Vibrant Visuals as the default graphical setting, delivering enhanced lighting, improved shadow effects, and updated visual rendering across the core game and supported Minecraft Marketplace content. Additionally, the Nintendo-exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up pack – which includes Mario-themed worlds, custom music, unique character skins, and iconic locations like Peach’s Castle and Delfino Plaza – is receiving a full visual update to take advantage of the new system’s graphical capabilities.
For existing owners, Mojang Studios confirmed that a digital upgrade path will be available for players transitioning from the original Nintendo Switch version, with specific pricing and upgrade details scheduled to be announced closer to release.
