Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially revealed Tales of Eternia Remastered, the newest installment in its ongoing Tales of Remastered Project. The beloved action-RPG classic is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 16, 2026. The publisher confirmed an incredibly broad release schedule, bringing the title to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Alongside the digital rollout, collectors can look forward to a dedicated physical retail release for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The narrative drops players directly into an epic fantasy journey spanning two entirely isolated worlds: Inferia and Celestia. The story revolves around the hunter Reid Hershel and his lifelong childhood friend Farah Oersted, whose routine rural lives are permanently transformed after a mysterious foreign girl arrives from the skies speaking an indecipherable language. As the party attempts to uncover her true identity and purpose, they stumble upon a catastrophic celestial prophecy known as the “Great Fall” – a literal collision course between their two physical worlds that threatens to wipe out all living civilization across both planes of existence.
The core gameplay returns with the high-speed 2D battle design that originally defined the entry, anchored by an updated iteration of the signature Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System. Combat emphasizes real-time tactical positioning, letting you string together devastating individual Artes while manually coordinating team synergy to overwhelm enemy defenses.
To balance old-school depth with modern pacing, this remastered edition integrates an array of quality-of-life accessibility features. The upgraded experience incorporates clear mini-map destination markers, an explicit toggle option to turn off random encounters entirely, and a high-speed fast-forward setting during automated grinding loops. Furthermore, purists can easily dive into the visual menu settings at any time to freely swap between the newly sharpened high-definition visuals and the game’s original, pixel-perfect classic graphics.
