Atelier Yumia Launches on Nintendo Switch 2 With Co-Op Alongside Brand-New Sequel Teaser

Publisher Koei Tecmo Europe and developer Gust have officially announced the immediate digital release of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land for the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside this port, the teams dropped a surprise teaser trailer revealing Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories, an all-new mainline installment scheduled to launch in early 2027.

The narrative of Atelier Yumia centers on Yumia Liessfeldt and her specialized traveling companions as they trek across the perilous, ruined continent of Aladiss. In a grand fantasy setting where the practice of alchemy has suddenly become a forbidden social taboo, the party uncovers hidden pieces of history to expose the true political cover-up behind the apocalyptic fall of the ancient Aladissian Empire. The freshly launched Switch 2 edition introduces native visual enhancements, significantly higher frame rates, and integrates the system’s new GameShare feature, letting two local players explore the wilderness together.

Atelier Yumia‘s gameplay structure breaks away from past entries by offering a fully fluid, seamless open-world exploration layout and a modernized, real-time battle system. You will traverse vast stretches of terrain to scavenge raw materials that feed into deep item-crafting loops. This port retains the streamlined Simple Synthesis system, allowing you to instantly forge tools and battle items directly in the field without teleporting back to an atelier. Additionally, you can customize, build, and decorate your own structural base camps anywhere in the wilderness.

To celebrate the hardware migration, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land and its generation upgrade path are running a 43% discount on the Nintendo eShop from today through June 20, 2026. For the newly teased sequel, Atelier Karia, Koei Tecmo confirmed a wide multiplatform release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2, with full details dropping on June 12, 2026.
