Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have announced Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, a modernized version of the classic hack-and-slash title. The remaster is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Concurrently, the companies revealed that the previously announced standard Nintendo Switch version has been cancelled in favor of the current-gen platforms.

The remastered release updates the original package by introducing fresh story scenarios alongside expanded mechanical layers to alter the flow of large-scale battles. Players can now deploy defensive tactical maneuvers including standard Evasion rollbacks, perfectly timed “Just Evasions” that open up immediate counterattack windows, and a “Perfect Power Guard” to deflect incoming blows and stun adjacent opponents.
A new Weapon Fusion system has also been implemented, allowing players to dismantle unwanted gear to transfer elemental attributes and passive skills into their preferred weapons. The title preserves its classic local offline multiplayer component, supporting split-screen cooperative and head-to-head competition across Musou, Free, and VS Modes.
Pre-orders are live now, starting with a Standard Edition ($39.99 USD) that includes a “Retro-Style Red Hare Saddle” early purchase bonus. A Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99 USD) expands the package with 42 retro character costumes, an officer concept art collection with developer commentary, 42 fuseable material weapons, and a starter booster bundle containing a Wind Scroll, Tiger Amulet, and the Merit-boosting Six Secret Teachings item.
