An expanded playable demo has been released for the anime-style parry-action deckbuilder Witch the Showdown ahead of the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The updated slice of the game introduces a fresh playable character, a new turn-based gameplay mode, and a temporary tournament challenge.

Witch the Showdown‘s core combat loops merge defensive precision with strategic resource management. Players must execute perfectly timed parries to generate the mana required to unleash powerful card-driven attacks. Every encounter is structured like a high-difficulty boss fight where momentum dictates survival. The roguelike Tournament Mode serves as the primary progression path, letting players experiment with tailored card builds, distinct rival encounters, and unlockable relics across each run.
The new demo update introduces Neon, a limited-time playable witch who brings her own dedicated tournament ladder consisting entirely of boss-level enemies. Progressing through her path unlocks an in-game manga detailing her specific backstory. Additionally, responding to player feedback from a previous alpha demo, a new turn-based mode has been implemented. This system allows players to learn card synergies and enemy patterns at a calculated, strategic pace rather than relying purely on fast-paced reflex timing.
Witch the Showdown is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access later this year, with a full multiplatform release planned for 2027 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
