The survival settlement RPG Nested Lands will enter Early Access on January 23 for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG, publisher META Publishing and developer 1 Million Bits Horde have announced. Console versions are planned for the game’s full release at a later date.
Update – January 23, 2026: Nested Lands has delayed its Early Access launch from January 23 to February 25, giving the team additional time to implement important improvements ahead of release.

Set during the devastation of the Black Death, Nested Lands places players in charge of rebuilding civilization from nothing. Starting alone and with scarce resources, the experience revolves around establishing and maintaining a medieval village while facing constant threats from disease, hostile bandits, and plague-mutated creatures roaming the land. The world responds dynamically to decisions, forcing careful consideration of how resources are managed and how the settlement grows under pressure.
The Early Access release expands on the game’s core systems with mechanics refined through community feedback. Plague outbreaks play a more prominent role, unfolding in multiple stages that directly impact survival strategies and settlement stability. Combat and stealth have been reworked, village management tools are more robust, and automation options aim to reduce friction as communities expand. Quality-of-life improvements across building, progression, and interface design further shape the Early Access experience.
Looking ahead, an updated demo is planned to arrive in the coming weeks. This version will introduce cooperative play for up to four participants, offering a limited preview of the game’s systems and world ahead of the Early Access launch.
