IO Interactive has announced a delay for action-adventure spy thriller 007 First Light, which will now launch on May 27, 2026. The game was previously scheduled to release on March 27, 2026 and is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

According to IO Interactive, the decision was made to give the development team additional time to refine and polish what it describes as its most ambitious project to date. Built as a globe-trotting James Bond experience, 007 First Light aims to blend cinematic action, stealth-driven spycraft, gadgets, high-speed car chases, and international locations into a cohesive single-player adventure.
The studio emphasized that the game is already fully playable from start to finish, and that the extra two months of development will be used to improve overall quality and ensure a strong day-one release. As both developer and publisher, IO Interactive stated that maintaining its creative and quality standards was a key factor behind the delay, noting that the additional time should help position the game for long-term success.
IO Interactive also confirmed that more updates on 007 First Light will be shared in early 2026, as development continues toward its revised release window.
