ProbablyMonsters has announced Ire: A Prologue, a first-person narrative horror game that blends 1980s nostalgia with modern stealth mechanics. The game is set to release on October 28 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Set aboard a haunted ship lost in the Bermuda Triangle, the story follows Emily, a teenager searching for her missing father. To uncover the truth, players must navigate a time loop, unlocking thirteen mysterious doors while evading a relentless monster that adapts to their every move.
With inspiration drawn from retro horror classics, Ire: A Prologue offers a tense, atmospheric experience told from a child’s perspective. Players will hide, distract, and outsmart a dynamic creature using stealth-based tools and clever tactics, while piecing together a broader mystery through journals, audio logs, and discarded items scattered throughout the ship.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game combines immersive visuals with a reactive soundscape to heighten the tension. Each loop reveals new layers of the story, building toward a larger narrative that sets the stage for the upcoming Ire franchise.
Ire: A Prologue is the beginning of a new horror saga that asks how far you’re willing to go—and how many loops you’ll survive—to uncover the truth.
