DaRmaZat Adventure of Samsara, a side-scrolling Metroidvania inspired by the original Atari 2600 title Adventure, is set to launch on September 4. Publisher Atari and developer Ilex Games will bring the game to PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG.
Developed by Brazilian studio Ilex Games, Adventure of Samsara blends retro soul with modern storytelling. You play as the Solar Champion—a long-dead Plutonian revived by the Sun—tasked with restoring balance to the multiverse. As you explore an interconnected 2D pixel-art world, you’ll uncover a dense narrative focused on memory, rebirth, and cosmic mystery.
While not a remake or sequel, the game pays tribute to the 1980 classic Adventure, weaving its core themes of exploration and discovery into every biome, boss, and hidden secret. Players can expect traditional Metroidvania mechanics, combat-driven progression, and subtle nods to the legendary roots from which it draws inspiration.
