Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition Heading to Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027

Revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct, publisher Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2027.

Originally released in 2012, Far Cry 3 Classic Edition is an open-world action-adventure shooter following Jason Brody, a tourist stranded on a lawless tropical island controlled by pirates. Players navigate the environment using first-person combat, stealth, hunting, crafting, and outpost liberation to escape the island and defeat antagonist Vaas Montenegro.

Launching alongside the main entry, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition is a retro-futuristic standalone spin-off inspired by 1980s VHS action cinema. The standalone expansion casts players as cyber-commando Rex “Power” Colt fighting cyborg soldiers, mutated creatures, and dragons across a neon-soaked landscape.
