Square Enix has officially revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, launching on April 8, 2027. Arriving in celebration of the original game’s 30th anniversary, the conclusion will be released simultaneously worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.

Picking up as Meteor looms in the sky and planetary Weapons awaken across the globe, the campaign expands exploration to a global scale. Players can take to the skies aboard the airship Highwind, navigating biomes, cities, and remote frontiers before skydiving directly down to locations of interest, including Aerospace Cape and Rocket Town. The core party roster now features fully playable Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine alongside returning companions, plus story appearances by Zack Fair and Aerith Gainsborough.
Combat builds upon the real-time and command-based hybrid system with the introduction of Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear (FITS). This new job-based system grants characters class abilities – such as Knight and Summoner – while altering character outfits and expanding synergy skill combinations. Square Enix also announced a Story Expansion Pass containing two upcoming story DLCs focused on Sephiroth as well as Vincent and The Turks, planned for release between winter 2027 and spring 2028.
