Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer Runes Studio have officially revealed Wardens of Avalon, a top-down, medieval dark Arthurian action-RPG adventure. The title is scheduled to launch on PC (Steam) next year in 2027.

The narrative drops you into a fractured realm where the iconic Knights of the Round Table have entirely fallen, leaving Camelot in absolute ruin. Enlisted as a vital member of the newly formed Legend of the Twilight Knights, you bear a simple yet world-altering goal: restore the fallen Kingdom of Avalon. However, salvation will not come easily, as your former brothers-in-arms – the corrupted Knights of the Round Table – will actively seek to thwart your progress and ensure your quest ends before it has truly begun.
Wardens of Avalon‘s gameplay structure seamlessly blends traditional survival crafting with deep base-building elements and a dynamic, precision-based combat system. Playable entirely as a lone hero or as a cooperative squad of one to four players, you will venture across the perilous island of Avalon to explore challenging, handcrafted dungeons. Combat demands masterfully utilizing dodges, parrying attacks, and managing your stamina across distinct, intense enemy phases while squaring off against overwhelming, multi-phase bosses.
Between expeditions, you will return to a small personal keep to rebuild, expand, and safeguard your fiefdom. By establishing new districts, you can construct specialized buildings and workshops to bring vital allies like blacksmiths, druids, herbalists, and apothecaries to your land. To counter these threats, Wardens of Avalon offers unrestricted freedom with a classless character progression system, allowing you to freely alter your build, craft mighty weapons or armor sets, buff gear with powerful seals, and uphold strict oaths to secure game-changing boons.
For players eager to draw their blades early, the teams also announced a dedicated Steam playtest debuting later this month in June, with sign-ups currently open.
