Publisher Cooldown Games and developer Frozenbyte have officially announced Trine 6: Together in Time, the latest installment in the beloved side-scrolling puzzle-platformer franchise. The sequel is scheduled to launch on September 17 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Update – August 25, 2026: The release of Trine 6: Together in Time has been officially delayed to March 4, 2027.

The narrative introduces a shift to the series’ dynamic, expanding the core roster of heroes through an unlikely alliance. In a distant corner of the Kingdom, two enterprising young newcomers – Moira the Acrobat and Adrius the Squire – botch a high-stakes heist, accidentally binding their fates to the realm’s legendary protectors. Alongside returning favorites Amadeus, Zoya, and Pontius, this new five-hero party must journey across perilous, handcrafted fantasy landscapes to repair a powerful magic gone awry before a dangerous warlock can reclaim it.
As always with the franchise, Trine 6‘s gameplay features a distinct co-op-first philosophy supporting up to four players locally or online via cross-play. The perplexing puzzles are designed to encourage players to combine abilities and coordinate actions, though they have been built so any character can solve them, giving players complete freedom over their preferred playstyle. For lonely adventurers, updated puzzle systems also adapt to fully accommodate solo play.
Once again, combat and traversal are closely intertwined, requiring smart positioning and timing to defeat tactical enemies that can shield or strengthen their allies. To help manage the chaos, Trine 6 introduces a brand-new Time-Slow ability accessible to all characters, allowing you to slow down the world to line up precise jumps or dodge incoming strikes. These elements culminate in dynamic boss encounters that blend combat, traversal, and environmental hazards into grand trials.
