The first-person psychological horror game Necrophosis: Full Consciousness is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2026, publisher PQube and developer Dragonis Games have announced. Alongside the digital release, the PlayStation 5 version will also be available as a physical edition that includes The Shore: Enhanced Edition as a bonus.

Originally released on PC in April 2025, Necrophosis now returns in its most complete form with the Full Consciousness edition, bringing the experience to consoles while expanding on its unsettling themes and content. Players take on the role of Consciousness itself, awakening within a decaying, unfamiliar body in a world where death is not an end state but a constant condition. Memoryless and fragile, you are drawn through grotesque landscapes shaped by rot, entropy, and forgotten divinities, piecing together fragments of truth hidden beneath layers of decay.
Exploration is central to the experience, as players move freely through cursed environments defined by surreal architecture and cosmic horror imagery. The game’s narrative unfolds indirectly through poetic fragments, environmental storytelling, and encounters with long-abandoned gods trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth. Rather than relying on traditional exposition, Necrophosis invites players to interpret meaning through atmosphere, symbolism, and discovery.
Puzzle-solving plays a major role in progression, with challenges designed to unsettle as much as they test logic. Some puzzles require possession mechanics or detachment from the physical body, while others demand careful observation of the environment and its disturbing details. These mechanics reinforce the game’s focus on psychological tension rather than direct combat.
The Full Consciousness edition also incorporates the Subconsciousness expansion, extending the journey into even darker mental and physical spaces. New locations, entities, and narrative elements deepen the descent into the game’s macabre universe, supported by minimalist sound design filled with distant whispers, droning ambience, and cryptic voices that amplify the sense of unease.
