The action role-playing game Dragonkin: The Banished will leave Early Access and launch in version 1.0 on March 19 for PC via Steam and consoles, NACON and developer Eko Software announced. The news was revealed alongside a new trailer and the opening of pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 (US, NL) and Xbox Series X|S (US, NL) editions.
Following an Early Access period shaped by extensive community feedback, the final release expands significantly on the current experience. Version 1.0 introduces a much broader campaign spread across four full chapters, alongside more varied biomes, additional enemy types, and newly designed combat zones. While Early Access players have been able to explore the opening chapter, the full release aims to deliver a complete progression arc supported by endgame content.
Set in a vast and corrupted world threatened by draconic forces, Dragonkin: The Banished allows players to choose from four distinct heroes, each accompanied by a dragon companion. These companions play an active tactical role by providing passive bonuses and powerful abilities that can be deployed during combat. Character progression is built around the Ancestral Grid, a puzzle-like system that lets players rearrange skill fragments to create powerful synergies and fine-tune their builds against overwhelming enemy hordes.
The game places a strong emphasis on theorycrafting and long-term customization, supported by the City of Montescail, a central hub where players can prepare strategies and access key services. With its full release, Dragonkin: The Banished is positioned as a more complete action RPG experience, combining narrative-driven progression with challenging endgame encounters and large-scale battles.
