The dark fantasy action role-playing game Deadhaus Sonata will receive a public playable demo on February 11 as part of Steam Next Fest, developer Apocalypse Studios announced alongside a new demo reveal trailer. The demo will be available on PC via Steam and offers players an early hands-on look ahead of the game’s planned 2026 release.

Designed as a focused slice of the experience rather than a full representation of Early Access, the demo highlights Deadhaus Sonata’s narrative tone, early progression systems, and the core feel of its combat. Players step into the decaying world of Malorum as powerful undead beings, with the demo emphasizing replayability through systems that evolve across multiple runs rather than a single linear playthrough.
Progression within the demo is shaped by the Celestial Clock, a mechanic that carries growth forward between attempts, while tarot cards allow players to experiment with different builds and gradually unlock stronger synergies. Each run is intended to meaningfully expand a character’s potential, encouraging repeated play to explore new combinations and approaches to combat.
Apocalypse Studios has been clear that the demo does not reflect the full scope of the project. Elements such as the complete story, cooperative multiplayer, the full world of Malorum, and endgame systems are intentionally absent, with the demo serving as a controlled introduction to the game’s foundations. An early preview of the demo will be available starting February 10 for supporters, creators, and media ahead of the public launch.
Deadhaus Sonata is a third-person, narrative-driven action RPG in which players control undead entities such as vampires, focusing on deliberate combat, positioning, and long-term build crafting rather than fast-paced button-mashing. Development is ongoing, and the demo release marks an important milestone as Apocalypse Studios continues refining the game in collaboration with its community ahead of Early Access.
