DaRmaZat Action RPG Avowed will launch for PlayStation 5 on February 17, joining the previously released Xbox Series X|S and PC versions via Microsoft Store, Steam, and Battle.net. The PS5 release coincides with the game’s Anniversary Update, with pre-orders now available through the PlayStation Store (NL-BE, EN-US).
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, Avowed is set in the Living Lands, a volatile and mysterious region within the world of Eora, known from the Pillars of Eternity series. Players step into the role of an Aedyran envoy sent to investigate a supernatural plague spreading across the island, only to discover that the land itself seems to recognize them. Political tension, ancient magic, and personal stakes intertwine as choices ripple outward, shaping alliances, conflicts, and the future of the Living Lands.
Avowed‘s gameplay blends first-person combat with deep role-playing systems, allowing players to freely combine melee weapons, magic grimoires, firearms, shields, and ranged options. Companions with distinct backgrounds and abilities accompany the journey, reacting to player decisions and evolving through their own questlines. Exploration spans diverse ecosystems, from dense forests to ancient ruins, all infused with a sense of living, shifting magic.
The Anniversary Update arriving alongside the PlayStation 5 version introduces several new features across all platforms, including New Game Plus, a dedicated Photo Mode, an additional weapon type, expanded character appearance options, new presets, and further Godlike customization. These additions aim to deepen replayability and player expression one year after the game’s original release on February 18, 2025.
