DLSS 5 is coming to NBA 2K27 on September 4, giving players their first look at NVIDIA’s new 3D-Guided Neural Rendering technology. The AI-powered tech is designed to take the game’s visuals another step toward Hollywood-quality photorealism.

DLSS 5 will be available in NBA 2K27 starting September 4 at 6:00 a.m. CEST for all GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and laptops, as well as on GeForce NOW. The launch marks the first time game artists can use the technology to enhance visual fidelity while maintaining their original creative vision.

NVIDIA has worked closely with NBA 2K27 developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K to bring 3D-Guided Neural Rendering to the game. The technology is designed to make the players look even more lifelike, with more natural lighting and shading across their faces and hair.
For example, DLSS 5 can simulate light passing naturally through a player’s ears, illuminate their skin more realistically, and create natural reflections in their hair. At the same time, the technology preserves the original facial geometry created from scans of real-world athletes.
