Funcom has revealed new details for its open-world survival game Dune: Awakening during Gamescom, showcasing the upcoming PlayStation 5 version ahead of its console launch on September 22, 2026.

Following its initial PC launch in June 2025, the game arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside a new single-player mode, the story climax, and difficulty customization options. Players who purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition on console will gain early access starting September 17, while Xbox users will also get access through Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Physical PlayStation 5 editions distributed by Bandai Namco and Solutions 2 GO are currently available for pre-order.
Alongside seven minutes of gameplay captured on PlayStation 5 Pro, Funcom confirmed performance targets across console models. Standard PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro systems will feature a Performance Mode running at 60 fps with dynamic resolution, alongside a 30 fps Quality Mode, with both modes utilizing 4K upscaling. Additionally, Funcom announced that post-launch cross-play between PC and consoles is in development, with a specific release date to be confirmed later.
The studio also announced the Filmic Archive DLC, scheduled to launch on September 22 across all supported platforms for $9.99. Inspired by Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptations, the pack includes iconic movie outfits such as the Aegis of the Unwalked Path armor and the Caladan Stormcoat, as well as a 73-piece Sardaukar-themed base-building set.
