Oneiric Worlds, the solo development studio behind the beloved Zelda-like adventure Zefyr: A Thief’s Melody, has officially announced Yashi – Sand Driver. Coming to PC via Steam and Itch.io, this new project is a cozy, atmospheric survival-crafting road trip that trades high-stakes combat for a soothing, meditative journey across a vast desert landscape.

After spending 12 years crafting Zefyr, solo developer Mathias Fontmarty designed Yashi – Sand Driver as a shorter, feel-good experience centered on exploration, resource gathering, and connection. Taking on the role of Yashi, players venture across a scorching wasteland alongside a faithful coyote companion in search of New Eden – humanity’s potential last refuge, revealed through a mysterious radio signal.
Yashi‘s survival mechanics are designed to be accessible yet engaging, requiring players to manage hunger and thirst while braving natural hazards such as sandstorms, hurricanes, and lightning strikes. Navigating treacherous canyons and steep peaks relies on scavenged supplies: by salvaging scrap metal and materials from abandoned vehicles and ruined cities, you can continuously upgrade your van with new capabilities, ranging from turbo boosts and mid-air jump controls to a grappling harpoon.
