Developer and publisher Brain Seal Ltd has officially unveiled Dominus Gladiatus, a brutal gladiator management simulator set in the ruthless arenas of ancient Rome. Scheduled to launch for PlayStation and PC via Steam in late 2026, the title challenges you to rise through the ranks of Roman society by operating a successful training school during a high-stakes championship season.

Stepping into the sandals of a Dominus, your primary objective is to build and manage a prestigious gladiator school, known as a Ludus. The gameplay loop centers on strategic recruitment and roster development, requiring you to scour Roman markets for desperate fighters and spot hidden athletic potential. Once recruited, raw prospects must be trained across various skill trees and outfitted with historically inspired Roman blades, shields, helmets, and armor sets specifically tailored to match their individual strengths and tactical roles.
Combat itself unfolds through savage auto-battler duels and team engagements where pre-fight preparation dictates survival. Beyond the physical matches, a significant portion of the simulation relies on macro-management; you must actively balance fighter morale, physical fatigue, and severe injuries to prevent your school from collapsing.
Dominus Gladiatus‘s campaign features six distinct Domini to choose from, each possessing unique traits and backgrounds. The remaining five characters act as ambitious rival managers who will actively expand their own schools, compete for the crowd’s fickle favor, and stand directly in your path on the bloody road to the final championship.
