Publisher Amazon Games alongside developers Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog have announced a delay for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a complete remake of the original 1996 title. Previously scheduled for a 2026 release, the game will now launch on February 10, 2027. Concurrently, the development teams confirmed that a newly revealed Nintendo Switch 2 version will release alongside the previously announced versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The cinematic remake casts players back into the role of archeologist Lara Croft on a global expedition to uncover the remnants of Atlantis. The project promises modernized gameplay mechanics and expanded narrative connections that bridge this foundational adventure to Lara’s broader lore. Key environments – spanning the jungles of Peru, the ruins of Greece, and the deserts of Egypt – have been rebuilt on a cinematic scale.
Survival and navigation in Legacy of Atlantis rely on specialized platforming agility combined with a grappling hook, alongside redefined environmental puzzles requiring the manipulation of light beams, water flow, and pressure plates. Combat updates focus on acrobatic maneuvers paired with Lara’s iconic dual pistols to fend off mercenaries, wildlife, and mythological threats, including a fully scaled reimagining of the classic Tyrannosaurus Rex encounter.
Pre-orders have officially opened across multiple physical and digital product tiers. The Standard Edition ($59.99 USD) grants early access to a Survivor Outfit cosmetic item. A higher-tier Deluxe Edition ($69.99 USD) bundles additional cosmetic skins, a planned post-launch story expansion pack, and a 48-hour early access gameplay window ahead of the official February launch. Finally, a physical Collector’s Edition ($199.99 USD) packs the Deluxe content alongside a premium steel case, a mini art book, a Croft signet pin, an Atlantean talisman keychain, and a detailed statue depicting Lara Croft battling the T-Rex.
