Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Great Ape Games have announced that The Lost Wild, an upcoming first-person dinosaur survival horror title, will officially launch in 2027. The game is currently in development for the PlayStation 5 and PC, with digital distribution confirmed for both Steam and Epic Games Store.

You will experience this survival horror through the eyes of Saskia, a protagonist who wakes up stranded on a remote island trapped in a prehistoric nightmare. Escaping this lush, overgrown wilderness means venturing deep into abandoned research facilities, picking through ruins for supplies while piecing together how this island came to be.
Instead of treating dinosaurs like standard video game monsters, the focus shifts entirely to a slow-burn psychological tension. These are wild, territorial animals that view you strictly as prey. Because you cannot simply shoot your way out, survival becomes a tense, unpredictably dynamic game of cat-and-mouse. Staying alive requires you to quiet your footsteps, observe how these creatures move, and learn their specific behaviors to map out a safe path forward.
When a confrontation is inevitable, your best tools are stealth and improvisation. You will need to scavenge the ruins for non-lethal equipment to manipulate the environment, trigger distractions, or use deterring weaponry to scare off predators just long enough to slip away. It creates a constant, atmospheric dread that only intensifies as you venture deeper into the complex.
