IO Interactive has released the official launch trailer for 007 First Light, its upcoming standalone James Bond origin story. Scheduled to hit shelves on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam & Epic Games Store, the game has also been confirmed for a Nintendo Switch 2 release later this summer.

The story drops you right into the shoes of a volatile, 26-year-old James Bond at the absolute beginning of his career. Long before earning his iconic double-0 status, the former Naval air crewman catches the eye of MI6 after a daring stunt, landing him a spot in their elite training program. You will have to work alongside your highly reluctant mentor, Greenway, to unravel a massive conspiracy involving a rogue agent and an internal coup threatening the agency.
Built with IO Interactive’s signature immersive design philosophy, the gameplay challenges you to navigate international locales using a seamless blend of cinematic action, stealth, and quick improvisation. You get total freedom in how you tackle each objective, meaning you can ghost through high-security compounds using high-tech gadgets and sheer charm, or cut loose with high-octane firepower and intense vehicle chases.
007 First Light launches on May 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam & Epic Games Store. Players on Nintendo Switch 2 will have to wait a bit longer until that version arrives later this summer.
