Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Doinksoft have announced a short delay for their upcoming fantasy action-platformer, Dark Scrolls. Originally scheduled for a May 28 release, the game will now launch on June 22, 2026, for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.

In a characteristically candid statement, Devolver Digital openly admitted the delay is a strategic move to steer clear of Yacht Club Games’ highly anticipated title, Mina the Hollower, which is set to debut just one day after the original slot on May 29. The publisher joked that while there is room for two pixelated fantasy action games in the industry, they preferred to give their title some breathing room – noting that Dark Scrolls features the distinct advantage of letting players control a saxophone-playing rat.
Developed by Doinksoft – the team behind Gato Roboto and Gunbrella – Dark Scrolls mixes fast-paced hack-and-slash platforming with shoot-’em-up chaos and roguelite progression. The game features procedurally generated runs across hand-crafted rooms where players dodge traps, conquer unrelenting bosses, and collect coins to spend on perks, upgrades, and allies at “Bruce & Goose’s Shoppe”.
The final release will include a roster of nine distinct unlockable heroes, customizable trinkets that alter gameplay styles, and support for both local and online two-player co-op.
