Hela: of Mice & Magic is now the official title of the previously announced project Hela, with a new deep dive trailer offering a closer look at its nature-driven design and musical direction ahead of its 2026 release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games).

With the updated title, the developers want to reflect a stronger emphasis on the relationship between a protective witch and her small, resourceful mouse companions, positioning both magic and scale as central themes. In Hela: of Mice & Magic, exploration unfolds across a living world inspired by Scandinavian landscapes, where forests, wetlands, and meadows function as interconnected spaces shaped by balance and environmental storytelling.
The game’s brand-new trailer highlights how nature is treated as an active presence rather than a backdrop, with sound and music reinforcing that identity. Each area carries its own tonal identity, shifting between defined melodies near settlements and more ambient compositions in the wilderness, allowing environmental sounds to take prominence. This approach creates a dynamic atmosphere where movement through the world also subtly alters the audio experience.
