Total Chaos Heads to Switch 2 With April 29 Release

Total Chaos arrives on April 29, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, following its earlier release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Microsoft Store in November 2025. The new version launches first in North America, with other regions scheduled shortly after.

total chaos

Set on the abandoned island of Fort Oasis, Total Chaos unfolds within a decayed landscape once shaped by a coal-mining community. The setting leans heavily into psychological tension, where the sense of being watched lingers throughout exploration. As fragments of past lives surface through notes and environmental details, the mystery behind the island’s سقوط and the protagonist’s connection to it gradually takes form.

Its structure blends survival horror traditions with modern systems, combining melee and ranged combat against unpredictable creatures with a crafting layer built around scavenged materials. Resource management plays a central role, with a detailed inventory system shaping moment-to-moment decisions. The Switch 2 version introduces technical options such as performance and unlocked framerate modes targeting 60 frames per second, alongside Joy-Con 2 mouse and gyro controls for more responsive interaction.

Originally developed as a total conversion mod for DOOM II, the project has evolved into a standalone release, carrying over its dense atmosphere and design identity. This version also includes the New Game+ update, adding an alternate ending, new enemy behavior through The Hunter, and expanded narrative elements that extend the experience beyond its initial conclusion.
