The upcoming summer release of Lunar Strike is starting its countdown next month with a playable demo on Steam. Developer and publisher Cognition Europe confirmed that their debut project will also be featured during the June edition of Steam Next Fest for PC, giving a first look at its grounded vision of lunar exploration.

Inside the world of Lunar Strike, life on humanity’s final moon base is seen through the eyes of Bo, an archivist whose mission of digital preservation quickly turns into a struggle against internal sabotage. This narrative focus on safeguarding cultural heritage stems from the studio’s collaboration with the non-profit Arc/k Project. Rather than relying on traditional sci-fi tropes, the story explores the tension between technological ambition and the preservation of human history.
Lunar Strike’s gameplay is heavily defined by 1/6th gravity, which dictates every movement of the landers and rovers across the surface. These mechanics rely on realistic propulsion physics and high-fidelity environments built through LiDAR and photogrammetry.
While the successful conclusion of the Artemis II mission marks a new chapter in how humanity views its relationship with the Moon, this adventure from Cognition Europe invites an exploration of a post-human future on PC via Steam this summer.
