New Tides of Tomorrow Trailer Highlights Online Story-Link as Demo Receives Major Update

First-person narrative adventure Tides of Tomorrow is set to launch on April 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and now developer DigixArt and publisher THQ Nordic have released a new trailer spotlighting its asynchronous multiplayer system alongside a substantial demo update.

The newly published trailer focuses entirely on the game’s distinctive Online Story-Link feature, an asynchronous multiplayer mechanic that allows players’ choices to influence one another’s journeys. Rather than traditional co-op, Online Story-Link connects individual playthroughs by weaving decisions made by others into your own narrative path. As players explore the ocean-covered world of Elynd, shaped by the aftermath of the Great Flood and the spreading plastification plague, they may encounter consequences born from the actions of friends, community members, or other adventurers navigating the same fractured societies.

In addition to the trailer, the Steam demo for the Marketland region has been significantly expanded. Over the past three months, the team has incorporated numerous improvements originally developed for the full release, many of which are now integrated directly into the demo build. Following strong feedback during the closed beta, boat gameplay has been added to the demo, allowing players to sail between floating structures and experience a core pillar of exploration firsthand.

The updated demo also introduces a preview of Pleasureland, a new area that becomes fully explorable in the complete version when the game launches on April 22. Due to the expanded content and structural changes, previous demo save files are no longer compatible with the current build.

Tides of Tomorrow was recently delayed from its original February release date to allow the team additional time to refine systems and narrative elements based on player feedback. With the enhanced demo and a clearer look at Online Story-Link, DigixArt is offering players a deeper understanding of how its shared storytelling framework will function when the full adventure arrives next month.
