A brand-new demo for Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is now available as part of Steam Next Fest — and importantly, this is not the same build that was released in December. You can download the updated demo now on Steam to experience a refreshed slice of the upcoming cozy adventure ahead of its April 27, 2026 launch on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Hyper Games — the studio behind Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley — and published by Hyper Games alongside Kakehashi Games, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a story-driven puzzle adventure inspired by Tove Jansson’s beloved Moomin stories. While not a direct sequel, the game serves as a spiritual successor, inviting players back to Moominvalley through a new seasonal lens.
This time, the focus shifts to Moomintroll himself. After unexpectedly waking from hibernation far too early, he finds the valley transformed by winter and wrapped in the mysterious presence of the Lady of the Cold. Alone and uncertain, he sets out into an unfamiliar frozen landscape, gradually discovering resilience, empathy, and new friendships along the way.
The updated demo offers players a glimpse into that winter journey, blending exploration, environmental storytelling, and gentle puzzle-solving across snow-covered forests and mountains inspired by Nordic nature. As in Hyper Games’ previous Moomin adaptation, interaction with the world is central: players assist old and new friends through small quests, navigate emotional challenges, and experience winter’s beauty as both a threat and a source of wonder.
Designed as a cozy yet introspective adventure, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth balances heartwarming storytelling with light environmental puzzles and character-driven progression. Themes of fear, growth, and community underpin the experience, reimagining elements from Moominland Midwinter in a format accessible to longtime fans and newcomers alike.
