The open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert is set to launch on March 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW), and developer Pearl Abyss has now released the second entry in its three-part Features Overview trailer series, this time placing the spotlight firmly on combat and progression.

Following the earlier overview that established the world of Pywel and the story of Kliff and the Greymanes, this new trailer dives into the game’s signature combat mechanics and flexible growth systems, emphasizing player choice across different combat styles and skill development paths. Players learn what it means to fight as a Greymane, mastering a variety of weapons including sword and shield, spear, great sword, axe, and ranged options—each offering distinct tactical possibilities. Weapons can be found, crafted, purchased, or earned as quest and boss rewards, while elemental effects like fire and ice add further strategic depth to each encounter.
Combat in Crimson Desert is fluid and dynamic, allowing players to chain combos using hand-to-hand strikes, kicks, grapples, and armed attacks. Timing, positioning, and situational awareness are central to success, with precise guards, evasions, and counterattacks offering opportunities to turn the tide of battle. Players can also leverage mounts and environmental elements to gain an edge, adapting their approach to each unique fight.
Character progression is fueled by Fragments of the Abyss, a vital resource for unlocking and upgrading skills. These fragments can be obtained by defeating bosses, exploring the world of Pywel, or completing specific quests. Weapons and equipment can likewise be enhanced using materials collected throughout the game, and special boss drops may provide signature skills or exclusive gear, allowing for further customization and strategic experimentation.
The second Features Overview trailer builds on the foundation laid in the first video, which introduced Kliff of the Greymanes, the fractured mercenary group at the center of the story, and the sprawling continent of Pywel. By showing how combat, skill growth, and equipment upgrades interweave with exploration and quests, Pearl Abyss continues to reveal the depth and flexibility of Crimson Desert’s gameplay systems as the launch date approaches.
