Narrative role-playing game GreedFall: The Dying World will leave Early Access and launch in its full version on March 10, 2026 for PC via Steam, followed by a console release on March 12 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release date was confirmed by publisher NACON and developer Spiders alongside a new gameplay trailer highlighting the game’s core systems.

Set three years before the events of GreedFall, the story explores the early days of the Malichor plague as it begins to ravage the Old Continent of Gacane. Players take on the role of a native of Teer Fradee, destined to become a Doneigad, a guardian of nature and knowledge. Shortly after completing this initiation, fate intervenes and the protagonist is captured and brought to the Old Continent, where a struggle for freedom slowly unfolds into a far-reaching conspiracy that could shape the fate of an entire land.
Throughout the journey, players can recruit up to eight companions, each with their own background, motivations, and personal secrets. These relationships play a central role in the experience, influencing quests, political outcomes, and the wider world state. Choices made during dialogue and exploration determine whether companions become trusted allies, bitter rivals, or something more personal, reinforcing the game’s focus on player agency.
Combat blends tactical depth with flexibility, allowing players to pause encounters to issue commands, exploit enemy weaknesses, and deploy powerful abilities, or remain in real-time control of a single character while party members act independently. This hybrid approach lets players tailor encounters to their preferred playstyle, balancing diplomacy, strategy, and direct confrontation as they navigate Gacane’s faction-driven conflicts.
Exploration is anchored by the Constanzia, the player’s ship, which serves as a gateway to the diverse regions of the Old Continent. From sprawling cities to dangerous wilderness, the world reacts to player decisions through shifting alliances, reputation changes, and narrative consequences that shape the overall course of the adventure.
