Wired Productions and developer Camel 101 have announced that Beneath, a psychological horror FPS with Lovecraftian flair, is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Known for its tense atmosphere, tight gunplay, and story-first approach, the game places players deep beneath the ocean surface, where something ancient has awakened.

A new “Blood & Guts” gameplay trailer highlights the game’s intense tone, but players can already dive in today—literally. A limited-time playtest is live on Steam and will remain available until August 4th.
Originally revealed earlier this year, Beneath follows deep-sea diver Noah Quinn as he descends into a submerged research facility. Cut off from the surface, he’s forced to face not only grotesque creatures and hostile soldiers, but also his own unraveling sanity. The developers cite F.E.A.R. and early console-era shooters as influences, aiming for a focused experience with no multiplayer, no microtransactions—just combat, exploration, and creeping dread.
While built for PC, Beneath takes full advantage of console features. On PlayStation 5, players can expect adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and support for PlayStation Super Resolution on Pro hardware. The goal is 4K at 60fps across platforms.
The game is available to wishlist now on PC via Steam. More info can be found on Wired’s official website, or by joining the Beneath Discord.
