Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially unveiled the name of its first-ever wireless fight stick for PlayStation 5 and PC. Previously known as “Project Defiant,” the controller is now called FlexStrike, and it’s set to launch in 2026.

FlexStrike will make its public debut exclusively at EVO 2025, from August 1–3 in Las Vegas, where it will be showcased at the Fight Stick Museum and Arc System Works’ booth.
Designed for competitive play, FlexStrike combines premium mechanical switch buttons with Sony’s ultra-low latency PlayStation Link wireless tech. It supports both wired and wireless connectivity on PS5 and PC, and includes toolless swappable restrictor gates—square, circle, and octagon—all stored conveniently inside the chassis alongside the included USB adapter.
Additional features include:
- Simultaneous Audio via PlayStation Link: Pair the fight stick and a Pulse headset or earbuds at the same time, with low-latency voice chat and game audio.
- Dual Fight Stick Support: On PS5, connect two FlexStrikes to a single USB adapter for local co-op or versus play.
- Built-in Battery & Carrying Case: Take it on the go with the included sling case and play wirelessly using the rechargeable battery.
- Customizable Layout: Featuring DualSense-style inputs, a touchpad, layout lock, lever mode switching, and USB-C compatibility.
- Ergonomic & Durable: A non-slip base, angled surface, and custom digital stick ensure a firm grip during intense matches.
FlexStrike represents Sony’s first dedicated entry into the fighting game hardware arena—just in time for the genre’s resurgence. For more information, visit the official website.
