Silver Lining Games and Square Glade Games have announced that Outbound, their cozy open-world camper van survival game, will launch on PlayStation 5 in 2026. The title was previously confirmed for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
Update – July 31, 2025: A tiny demo playtest for Outbound was announced as part of Gamescom 2025, offering players a chance to explore a small slice of the adventure.

Described as a “cozyvival” game by developer Square Glade Games, Outbound blends laid-back exploration with light survival mechanics. Players begin with an empty camper van and set off alone or with up to four players to scavenge, craft, and gradually build their dream mobile home, adapting to shifting weather and resource needs.
Whether played solo for a peaceful, off-grid experience or in co-op for a more upbeat road trip feel, Outbound balances calm resource management with friendly collaboration. The PlayStation 5 version also supports PlayStation Portal out of the box, giving players a seamless way to bring their journey on the road—literally.
Inspired by a real-life road trip through Europe, Outbound emphasizes sustainability both thematically and mechanically. Players harness renewable energy like wind and sun to power their van, recycle litter for new blueprints, and explore serene landscapes dotted with solar panels, sailboats, and windmills rather than industry.
You’re not alone on the journey either—a loyal dog companion joins you, and yes, you can pet the dog. This functional furry friend helps fetch resources, making it both cute and useful.
