Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed Diablo V, scheduled to launch in spring 2029 on platforms yet to be announced. The company also announced that an animated Diablo series is in development at Netflix, without providing further details.

Revealed during BlizzCon 2026, the upcoming action RPG takes place in a fallen Sanctuary where the Lord of Terror, Diablo, has conquered the realm and established his throne in Westmarch. Players take on the role of the Heir to Westmarch, a fugitive connected to Diablo who travels through unstable, shifting landscapes that change terrain, encounters, and rewards across visits.
The title shifts away from traditional safe-haven hubs, introducing a mobile caravan of allies and vendors – including a former Sister of the Sightless Eye and a stranded Treasure Goblin – that serves as the player’s primary base while traversing the scorched Western Continent. Blizzard introduced three playable classes during the panel: the returning Demon Hunter and Monk, alongside the new Plague Knight class.
Diablo V also returns to Diablo II-inspired itemization systems, incorporating stat requirements, grid-based inventory management, runes, runewords, and gear sets. Development updates are scheduled to begin in 2027 ahead of its 2029 release.
