Konami Announces Rhapsody in Scarlet, a Jazz-Infused Action Game, for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Konami has officially announced Rhapsody in Scarlet, a new original magick-themed action-adventure game heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. While a specific release date has not yet been confirmed, the title blends 1920s jazz aesthetics with dynamic combat.

Set during the Roaring Twenties in a stylized New York City, the game follows Ellie Myers – a spirited young magus who moves to the city to pursue her dream of becoming a jazz singer. However, she quickly finds herself entangled in a clandestine conflict simmering beneath the city’s glamour, where secret factions of magi operate in the shadows. After being drawn into a world-shaking conspiracy involving a mysterious mafia, Ellie crosses paths with Ilya Jones, the disciplined young leader of an elite magus organization known as the Seekers. Despite their contrasting personalities, the two must form an alliance to uncover the secrets hidden within the metropolis.

Combat in Rhapsody in Scarlet focuses on fast-paced beast-and-magick combos. Fighting alongside her beast companion, Sköll, Ellie can mix and match an expansive suite of abilities – ranging from close-quarters strikes and ranged magical attacks to wide area-of-effect skills.

Rhapsody in Scarlet is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
