Simone Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Firesprite have revealed that cinematic horror sequel Until Dawn 2 will launch for PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2027. Digital and physical pre-orders open on September 10, 2026.
Taking over development duties from Supermassive Games, Firesprite’s standalone sequel follows Dead True, a crew of ghost-hunting content creators whose staged investigations turn into real terror. After a paranormal investigation at the familiar Blackwood Sanatorium takes a dark turn, an encounter with supernatural survivor Yoona leads the crew to Akishima Island—a remote, long-abandoned tropical paradise hiding ancient secrets.
The narrative horror title retains the signature Butterfly Effect system, where player choices, character relationships, and split-second decisions dictate who lives and who dies. Players will navigate branching storylines, investigate mysterious signals, and face supernatural threats, with every main character capable of surviving or dying before morning.
Pre-ordering the game unlocks Dr. Hill-themed bonuses, while the Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Y2K Neon Vibes costume pack and a Dioramas of Death feature to review fatal choices.
