Developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have released the official launch trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, a dark fantasy open-world action-RPG built in Unreal Engine 5. The debut title from the studio founded by game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz is set to launch on September 3.

Set in 14th-century Europe amidst the devastation of the Black Death and ongoing wars, the narrative centers on Coen, a young man transformed into a Dawnwalker who lives as a human by day and a vampire by night, sharing the unique strengths and weaknesses of both states. Players are tasked with exploring Vale Sangora, a mysterious region in the Carpathian Mountains, to save Coen’s family from the tyrannical vampire lord Brencis. Every choice made throughout the journey carries consequences that directly influence both narrative progression and active gameplay.
The world gives players complete freedom to explore atmospheric forests, roadside chapels, and ancient ruins at their own pace while discovering side quests and hidden treasures. Rebel Wolves confirmed that this first entry serves as the start of an ongoing saga, with future titles planned to explore entirely new historical eras and cultures.
Attendees at Gamescom can play a hands-on demo at the studio’s booth in Hall 6.1 ahead of the release. The Blood of Dawnwalker launches on September 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, with pre-orders currently open across all platforms.
