During the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Asobo Studio announced Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. The game is scheduled to launch on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass and supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
Serving as a prequel set fifteen years before the events of the multi-award-winning A Plague Tale saga, the original story blends combat, myth, and fate. You follow a young and fierce plunderer named Sophia, who sets out for the distant shores of Minotaur’s Island – a mysterious destination that has called to her since childhood. As you work to uncover the secrets of Sophia’s past and her family’s connection to the island, old companions she once tried to escape pursue her across the dangerous landscape.
The narrative features a setting at the crossroads of the Middle Ages and the Minoan era. Throughout your journey, you can rely on Sophia’s friend, Leni, to help navigate deadly trials and dangerous enemies. Deep within the island, you will also encounter a highly unexpected ally: a mythic hero pulled straight from ancient legends. The title features an atmospheric original soundtrack composed by Olivier Derivière, with more details regarding the OST promised soon.
Digital and physical pre-orders are currently live across all supported platforms. Placing a pre-order grants you access to a free bonus DLC titled The Heritage Pack. This pack includes three digital items: The Minoan Sword weapon, Alec’s Pendant cosmetic, and a 30+ page in-game digital artbook.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches on August 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
