Developer Crossbridge Game Studios and publisher Shochiku Games have officially unveiled Moomin: Midsummer Madness, an enchanting new cozy point-and-click adventure in the Moomin franchise. Debuting its very first reveal trailer during today’s Wholesome Direct, the game is inspired by Tove Jansson’s beloved 1954 Nordic fantasy novel, Moominsummer Madness.

The game draws you into a mesmerizing, hand-painted world faithful to Jansson’s original illustrations. The story kicks off when an unexpected flood overtakes Moominvalley, forcing the Moomin family to find refuge in a mysterious floating theater. You will step into the shoes of both Moomintroll and Little My, swapping between the two characters to utilize their unique traits as they embark on a whimsical journey to find their way home.
Designed as a relaxing, family-friendly experience with an estimated playtime of 4 to 6 hours, Moomin: Midsummer Madness blends iconic scenes from the original novel with brand-new story episodes. To progress, you will solve light mysteries through dialogue, exploration, and mini-games.The game also includes a built-in hint system, ensuring players of all ages can enjoy the narrative without frustration as they encounter and befriend a quirky cast of familiar faces.
Moomin: Midsummer Madness is scheduled to launch later this year for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
