Developer and publisher Xhulia Xhaxho has detailed a shift in the visual and atmospheric direction for Mossbound, an upcoming single-player cozy exploration adventure starring a cute mouse.

As stated by the developer, over the past several weeks, development has focused on transitioning away from the darker, drier atmosphere of older environments toward a softer, more open color palette designed to make the world feel more vibrant and welcoming.
The updated visuals emphasize brighter natural lighting, richer colors for environmental elements like grass, and clearer scenery to cultivate a warmer, more adventurous tone. According to the developer, these adjustments are intended to make the game world feel more alive and expansive while preserving the calm, cozy aesthetic that defines the project.
In Mossbound, you step into the role of Milo, a small mouse navigating a quiet, nature-driven world of moss and tangled roots to find a cure for his brother. Featuring an art style inspired by classic old cartoons, the gameplay centers on open exploration across forests, rivers, and small islands. You can travel by boat, glide through the air using an umbrella, fish, mine glowing crystals, and interact with other mice or helpful companion creatures.
Mossbound is set to launch for PC via Steam, with a release date yet to be announced.
