Publisher Deep Silver and developer KING Art Games have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is set to launch for PC via Steam on September 17.

A premium Commander Edition will also be available, granting buyers three days of early access starting September 14, alongside the digital soundtrack and access to two upcoming paid downloadable content packs: The Blood Ravens Story Prologue and AFTERMATH.
The real-time strategy title returns to the series’ roots with classic base-building gameplay, squad specialization, and an expanded Sync Kill system for detailed melee combat. Players can command four unique factions – the Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus, who are making their series debut. Each faction features its own distinct mechanics, buildings, units, and specialized Commanders.
The game includes a massive story campaign co-written by Black Library author John French, featuring over 70 solo or co-op missions supported by CGI introductions and fully animated cutscenes.
Outside of the campaign, Dawn of War IV features highly configurable AI Skirmish matches, competitive multiplayer ranging from 1v1 to 3v3 setups, and the return of the fan-favorite Last Stand mode. An in-game Painter tool is also included, allowing players to customize the appearance of their fighting forces or replicate existing factions from the Warhammer universe.
