The retro-inspired first-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 has unveiled a brand-new gameplay trailer, confirming the return of the Daemons of Slaanesh and the Death Guard ahead of its 2026 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Publisher Big Fan Games and developer Auroch Digital showcased fresh footage highlighting new enemies, expanded combat options, and the sequel’s branching campaign structure.

Picking up directly after the events of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, the sequel once again blends the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000 with fast-paced gunplay inspired by classic 1990s shooters. Players will carve a path through a single-player campaign that now features branching routes, sending them across diverse new locations ranging from towering hive cities to hostile, overgrown jungles.
For the first time in the series, players can choose between two distinct protagonists. Ultramarine Sternguard Veteran Malum Caedo returns with his signature relentless firepower, while Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath joins the fight with her own arsenal, abilities, and more agile combat style. Each character offers a different approach to purging heretics, encouraging replayability across campaign paths.
The new trailer provides a first look at the Daemons of Slaanesh, marking a long-awaited return for the faction, alongside the plague-ridden forces of the Death Guard. These threats join a growing roster of enemies that includes Chaos Cultists, Nurglings, Bloodletters, and their Juggernauts. As players unlock new weapons and abilities, enemy encounters escalate in scale and ferocity, reinforcing the game’s emphasis on explosive, high-octane combat.
Armed with an expanded arsenal that includes devastating Space Marine weaponry and brutal melee options like the chainsword, players will once again reduce foes to showers of pixelated gore in battles that lean fully into the exaggerated violence and visual flair of its retro roots.
With more enemies, more weapons, new biomes, and a branching narrative structure, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 aims to build on the foundations of its predecessor when it launches in 2026 for consoles and PC.
