After months of iteration and testing, Starminer is officially set to launch in Early Access on Steam this May 2026. Developer CoolAndGoodGames, alongside publisher Paradox Arc, confirmed the release window following extensive feedback from core testers who helped refine the game’s systems, pacing, and overall feel.

While an exact date has yet to be announced, the studio states that May marks the beginning of Starminer’s journey, with further updates and post-launch improvements planned in collaboration with the community.
Originally introduced as a real-time space strategy game focused on high-stakes mining and survival, Starminer challenges players to construct and command modular fleets of mining vessels and combat ships within a fully simulated physics environment. Every decision—how much tonnage to carry, how heavily to arm your fleet, how deep into asteroid clusters to expand—directly impacts both profitability and survivability.
The deeper players mine into resource-rich asteroid fields, the more attention they attract from an increasingly aggressive alien threat. Strategic expansion requires careful balancing of extraction efficiency, research progression, and defensive capability. Link gates, advanced technologies, and sector-wide contracts offer opportunities for growth, but greed inevitably escalates the danger.
Earlier this year, the team opened closed beta sign-ups to fine-tune the onboarding experience and early-game flow. That testing phase helped tighten mechanics, smooth out edge cases, and ensure the tutorial and core gameplay loop properly support the game’s layered strategy systems.
In the coming weeks, the developers plan to release additional gameplay videos highlighting fleet construction, combat scenarios, and long-term progression systems ahead of launch.
Starminer arrives in Early Access on Steam in May 2026, with the precise launch date and final release details to be announced soon.
