Publisher Kwalee and developer Clover Bite have announced that GRIME II will launch for PC via Steam on March 31, 2026.

The sequel to 2021’s GRIME continues the series’ surreal action-adventure Metroidvania design, placing players in the role of a Formless—an art mimic capable of absorbing defeated enemies and reshaping them into living molds. Set in a new and mysterious region within the GRIME universe, the game blends exploration, environmental storytelling, and challenging combat encounters.
At the core of GRIME II is its mold system. After defeating enemies, players can absorb them and summon their forms for special attacks and traversal advantages. Molds can be used to hurl foes, fire projectiles, stun opponents, or even manifest as combat summons. This mechanic directly influences both moment-to-moment combat and exploration of hidden paths.
Combat also integrates environmental interaction. Surroundings can be weaponized to deal damage from close range or at a distance, while enemies can exploit those same environmental hazards. The returning hand-tendril ability allows players to parry incoming attacks or grasp enemies to absorb them, reinforcing the risk-reward loop tied to mastering enemy patterns.
The world design emphasizes a strange, art-infused aesthetic, featuring locations constructed from painted nails, towering vases, and other unconventional materials. Each area is inhabited by distinct civilizations with their own cultures and characters, adding narrative depth to the exploration-driven structure.
