The science-fiction retro-futuristic action platformer REPLACED has been delayed from its previously planned March 12 release date and will now launch on April 14, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and GOG. Publisher Thunderful Games and developer Sad Cat Studios confirmed the one-month delay in an official update.

According to Sad Cat Studios, the game is technically complete, but the team decided to take additional time to further polish and stabilize the experience ahead of launch. As a small studio working on its debut title, the developers emphasized their commitment to delivering a refined day-one build that fully reflects their creative vision.
The team also highlighted the positive reception to the recently released Steam demo, describing community feedback as instrumental in guiding final adjustments. Player impressions, reviews, and gameplay clips have contributed to fine-tuning the last details before release. The demo remains available on Steam for those who want an early look at the game prior to launch.
Originally announced several years ago, REPLACED blends cinematic side-scrolling action with pixel-art visuals and a dystopian sci-fi setting. With the extra development time, Sad Cat Studios aims to ensure the final version meets expectations when it arrives on April 14.
