Bandai Namco has released a new eight-minute walkthrough trailer for action role-playing game Code Vein II, while also confirming that a standalone Character Creator Demo will launch on January 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, ahead of the full game’s release later this month.

The newly released walkthrough trailer offers an extended look at exploration, combat flow, and key systems, giving players a clearer sense of how the sequel expands on its predecessor’s foundations. Alongside this, the Character Creator Demo will allow players to design their custom Revenant in advance and carry that character over into the full game. The demo also grants access to the Magmell Institute hub area, where players can experiment with Photo Mode and visit the hot spring.
Set in a collapsing future where humanity and Revenants struggle to coexist, Code Vein II centers on the sudden emergence of the Luna Rapacis, a phenomenon that drives Revenants into madness and transforms them into monstrous Horrors. Players assume the role of a Revenant Hunter accompanied by Lou, a mysterious girl capable of traveling through time. Together, they revisit pivotal moments in history to alter destinies, uncover hidden truths, and attempt to prevent the world’s destruction.
The sequel once again blends fast-paced action RPG combat with its signature blood-based systems. Players drain blood from enemies to activate powerful abilities, customize their playstyle through the returning Blood Code system, and make use of new weapons and equipment known as Jails. Combat encounters emphasize reading enemy behavior, adapting builds on the fly, and coordinating with Partner characters, each of whom brings unique skills and narrative ties that influence both battles and story progression.
